Hotel Tours
Guided by the design teams involved with each hotel these were an opportunity to get an insider’s look at some of London’s most exciting new openings.
We are very grateful to the architects, interior designers and other team members who gave up their time to give guided tours of the following hotels.
-
The hotel’s interiors have been revamped by New York-based designer Thierry Despont and London-based architects Reardon Smith, including the transformation of the former Gatsby bar into a relaxed, intimate all-day dining space, inspired by the 1926 origins of the building.
-
An incredible opportunity for a guided tour around the site of Cambridge House Hotel and Residences in London’s Mayfair with key members of the project team.
Centred around the Grade I listed Cambridge House, this is a unique collection of listed and other buildings which are being brought back to life by architects PDP London. The site is currently undergoing extensive structural modifications and development as well as careful conservation work.
-
Following an extensive 18-month transformation estimated at £100 million, this is an exciting chance to have a tour of The Carlton Tower Jumeirah with key members of the project team.
Originally designed 60 years ago by Henry End, the five-star property was thoughtfully redesigned by 1508 London to cater to a new generation of discerning guests. While respecting the building's original, clean modernist style, the esteemed design studio layered an eclectic mix inspired by the architecture of surrounding mansion blocks and homes with soft curved edges, pops of bright colour and organic inspired forms throughout. Changes include a new foyer and reception, health club and spa with London's largest naturally lit swimming pool, flagship restaurant, lobby bar and lounge, ballroom, and meeting rooms.
-
Woods Bagot has spent the last near-decade creating this luxury urban resort, which offers an extraordinary visitor experience and exceptional service. This 16-story project has been sensitively integrated into the historic urban fabric of Leicester Square—the famous entertainment district in London.
Conceived as an internal vertical street neighbourhood with a fictional journey of tantalising experiences, every interconnecting space forms the central volume and contains activated experiences. This has been visually enhanced by interior designers Yabu Pushelberg and lavished with an array of surfaces, furnishings, and artwork. Every sensation is satisfied within an audacious poetic movement – taking a virtual London high street and turning it vertical.
-
Marking the brand’s return to London, this is Mondrian’s sixth hotel in the global portfolio and their European flagship with the interior design and hotel team. The 120-room property sits in the heart of Shoreditch, London’s creative and cultural hub. The property also includes BiBo, a culinary experience by world-famous chef Dani García and Christina's, an all-day café and cocktail bar that highlights local suppliers and brands with social impact.
-
Nobu Hotel London Portman Square is the 13th hotel from the iconic brand - founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper – and the third collaboration between L+R Hotels and Nobu Hospitality.
A contemporary approach to both aesthetics and hospitality is employed throughout, taking inspiration from Japanese architectural disciplines and minimalist design, with architecture and guest rooms by Make Architects and public areas by David Collins Studios.

NoMad London takes residence inside the historic, grade II-listed building famously known as The Bow Street Magistrates’ Court and Police Station. A collaboration with New York-based interior design studio Roman and Williams, the transformation of the storied 19th century building draws inspiration from its history and location in Covent Garden, as well as exploring the artistic and cultural connection between London and New York.
